MuchFACT Executive Director Steps Down

(Toronto - September 23, 2011)

Beverley McKee, Executive Director of MuchFACT, announced her resignation today. MuchFACT, funded entirely by MuchMusic and MuchMore (divisions of Bell Media), is a not-for-profit organization that provides production grants to Canadian independent artists for music video and new media projects.

"I am truly proud of what this organization has accomplished over the years. While I am excited to move forward with new career challenges, I feel so lucky to have been part of an organization that plays such an important part in developing the careers of some of Canada's most successful artists” says McKee. It has been a privilege to lead our small but dedicated team.”

“Beverley has become a friend and mentor to so many music video directors and artists in Canada, not just because she signs the cheques, but because she is a passionate fan of the great work these artists produce” said David Kines, Chair MuchFACT. “Her steady hand at the tiller will be greatly missed.”

McKee joined MuchFACT (then VideoFACT) in January of 1997, and has since over seen the production of more than 3,700 music video and new media projects. Her last day with the company is October 29, 2011.

Since its inception in 1984, MuchFACT has allocated over $65 million to more than 5,400 projects.

Experienced music or broadcast industry professionals are encouraged to submit applications for the position of Executive Director. Deadline for submission is October 14, 2011.
