The Polaris Music Prize

We here at MuchFACT are getting pretty excited about the upcoming Polaris Music Prize taking place in Toronto on Monday, September 19th! Here’s the Polaris Music Prize official site.

Each year we are very proud that so many of the artists on the short list have also received funding from MuchFACT. This year is no different! While we congratulate all the artists nominated for the prestigious prize, we're stoked that we had a part in helping out 2011 short list nominees Austra, Timber Timbre, Arcade Fire, The Weeknd, Hey Rosetta, Ron Sexsmith and Destroyer.

Funded entirely by Bell Media's MuchMusic and MuchMore, MuchFACT has been operating since 1984. Each year MuchFACT grants millions of dollars for the production of traditional music videos, digital music videos, websites and epks to Canadian independent artists, often very early on in their careers. MuchFACT has helped many artists that have gone on to become some of Canada's biggest musical stars, so far handing out more than $65-million to over 5,400 projects.
